Keeway has launched a brand new 125 cc motorcycle (above) in India, which promises to provide excellent ride quality and comfy ergonomics to its riders.
Keeway’s new range seems to draw inspiration from iconic motorcycles across the globe. This is most evident in the SR125, a low-slung motorcycle that resembles yesteryear’s British motorcycles.
The SR125 arrives in India at a price tag of Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
Retro
The retro-styled SR125 has been on the cards for a long time. Now, the motorcycle is rolling out to dealerships across the country with an aggressive price tag however is expensive compared to its competitors in this segment.
You get 125cc performance in a refreshingly different avatar than the usual naked motorcycles or cafe racers.
Not many people would know that Keeway Motors, the same brand which brought us much-loved bikes for the streets, has a new offering.
The dynamic-looking Keeway SR 125 today is designed to attract young riders and active commuters in India. It has a stylish design and offers class-leading power from its 125cc engine.
Motor/Engine
The bike has an air-cooled 125cc motor with 9.7hp and 8.2Nm, which, compared to Honda Shine 125, is less as it makes 10.7hp and 11Nm.
Chassis/Suspension
The bike gets a telescopic fork, 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers, and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels supported by a 300mm disc at the front and 210mm at the rear.
The entire structure is supported by the single down-tube frame, and compared to TVS Raider weighs more with 120kg.
Styling
The SR125 has a compact styling, a 14.5-litre fuel tank, and a small round halogen headlight. It further receives the single-shade digital dash display. The tail section remains super minimal with a round tail light and blinkers.
Shades
With three shades Glossy White, Glossy Black, and Glossy Red, Keeway SR125 is available at all Keeway dealerships in India. The SR125 goes head-on with Bajaj Pulsar 125, Honda SP125, TVS Raider and Honda Shine.
However, the SR125 gets the price upward compared to these competitors, but in terms of price, it competes with TVS Apache RTR 160 and Yamaha FZ series.
