Buell’s new Super Cruiser is currently undergoing a final, multi-week stress test in the United States before its official launch. The company is putting the prototypes through their paces in extreme conditions to ensure durability and performance.
The testing schedule is a rigorous, cross-country expedition that includes:
- Week 1 (Arizona): Testing in extreme heat at the Toyota Proving Grounds to assess fuel metering, hot fuel performance, and the stability of the fueling system.
- Week 2 (Colorado): High-altitude testing at locations like Pikes Peak (over 14,000 feet) to challenge the bike’s ECU and performance in low-oxygen environments.
- Week 3 (Nevada/California): Urban and hot fuel endurance tests, including navigating the Las Vegas Strip in rush-hour traffic, making ascents of Davis Dam with a passenger, and running hot soak simulations.
- Week 4 (Lake Havasu/Yucca): Dust intrusion tests to validate performance on dirt roads and in dusty conditions.
The Buell Super Cruiser is powered by a 1190cc V-Twin engine, producing 175 horsepower and 100 ft-lbs of torque. The production of the bike is expected to begin in the Fall of 2025. The introductory price for pre-order customers was $23,900, with the base MSRP for the general public set at $25,900.
