QJMotor is set to launch a new 800cc sportbike called the SRK 800RR. This bike features a four-cylinder engine, making it the third model from QJMotor to have such an engine. The first four-cylinder model was the SRK 600RR, introduced in 2020 and utilized an engine initially designed by Benelli, another brand owned by the Qianjiang Group, which also owns QJMotor.
Honda CBR650R
The SRK 800RR is built around a new engine and resembles Honda’s CBR650R regarding design cues. However, the engine has a longer stroke, giving it a 778cc displacement compared to the CB650R’s 649cc. The bike’s frame also appears inspired by the CBR650R, although it is made of pressed steel rather than aluminium.
Despite similarities, the SRK 800RR is not a direct copy of the Honda model. QJMotor has substantially modified the engine, as shown in their patents. The 800RR is expected to produce around 101 horsepower, approximately 7 more than the CBR650R.
Equipment
Regarding equipment, the SRK 800RR is equipped with significant components such as Brembo radial four-pot callipers with ABS, and the suspension is likely to be Marzocchi-branded. Qianjiang and Marzocchi established a joint venture in 2021 to manufacture Marzocchi components in China, making it possible for QJMotor to use them in their motorcycles.
Additional specifications include a curb weight of 456 pounds with fuel and a top speed of 137 mph. The bike’s wheel and tire combination is listed as 120/70ZR-17 at the front and 180/55ZR-17 at the rear.
Availability outside China
While the availability of the SRK 800RR outside of China remains uncertain, QJMotor has started importing its motorcycles to the United States, offering various models ranging from 135cc singles to 754cc twins. Therefore, the SRK 800RR could be available in the US market when it goes into production.
The SRK 800RR very much take cues from the 1000RR, which is heavily derived from MV Agusta parts
Conclusion
The SRK 800RR visually aligns with current sportbike trends, featuring air intakes on the nose, multifaceted winglets on the side fairings, and a high tail. Its design resembles the yet-to-be-launched QJMotor 1000RR, which is heavily derived from MV Agusta parts. Qianjiang and MV Agusta entered a partnership, granting QJMotor access to MV’s 1,000cc four-cylinder engine. The QJMotor 1000RR is scheduled for an official unveiling at the end of 2023.
