TVS Motor Company, a prominent motorcycle manufacturer in India, has unveiled its latest electric scooter, named “X.” This new electric scooter represents TVS’s sportiest and best-equipped electric two-wheeler.

TVS X
The journey of the TVS X began in 2018 when it was initially introduced as a concept model called the Creon. Now, after five years, the electric scooter has been officially revealed. With a futuristic yet minimalist design, the TVS X stands out with its naked appearance, showcasing the substructures at the centre. The front of the scooter features a vertically stacked LED headlight, contributing to its futuristic style.
At the heart of the TVS X’s technology is a powerful electric motor integrated into the rear swingarm. This motor reaches a peak power output of 11 kilowatts (approximately 14.3 horsepower), allowing the scooter to achieve a top speed of 105 kilometres per hour (65 miles per hour).

Impressively, it can accelerate from zero to 40 kilometres per hour (25 miles per hour) in just 2.6 seconds. Enhancing sustained performance is a RAM air intake that directs cool air to the electric motor. The TVS X offers three distinct ride modes: Xealth, Xtride, and Xonic.

The TVS X is equipped with a 4.44-kilowatt-hour battery pack that promises a range of 140 kilometres (87.5 miles) on a single charge. For convenience, the scooter provides a fast charger that can charge the battery from zero to 50 percent in only one hour. Charging to 80 percent takes approximately three hours and 40 minutes using a regular wall charger. Rolling on 12-inch wheels both front and rear, the TVS X stands out as the first electric scooter in India to feature ABS, enhancing its safety features.
Smart Xhield Technology
Safety technology is a key focus for the TVS X, featuring collision warnings, speeding alerts, anti-theft measures, and geofencing through the Smart Xhield technology. These features are easily accessible through a 10.25-inch full-color display on the scooter’s dashboard. Additionally, the display supports cruise control and unique features like wellness monitoring, gaming, and live video streaming, likely available only when the scooter is stationary.
Pre-bookings for the TVS X electric scooter are already open, priced at Rs 249,990 (approximately $3,030 USD). The scooter’s deliveries are set to begin in a phased manner starting December 2023, based on different regions.
