Here are some of the fundamental changes and features of the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R:

  • Engine: The bike has a 636cc inline four-cylinder engine. The cam profiles have been revised to increase performance in the lower rev range and improve emissions. The injectors have also been fine-tuned for greater fuel atomization, leading to increased efficiency and lower emissions.
  • Airbox and Intake: Kawasaki has improved the 5.09-litre airbox by introducing a revised intake funnel design. This modification contributes to increased low RPM performance. Other efficiency measures include coating the piston skirts with molybdenum to reduce friction, adding connecting passages between the cylinders, and revising the header and collector pipe layout.
  • Suspension: The 2024 ZX-6R features a Showa Separate Function Fork—Big Piston (SFF-BP) for the front suspension. It offers preload adjustability on the left fork cap and compression and rebound damping on the right. The rear suspension is handled by a Showa shock with full adjustability.

Brakes, Electronics and Design

  • Brakes: The braking system has been upgraded with a Nissin radial mount instead of four-piston monobloc callipers at the front. These callipers work with a pair of 310mm stainless steel brake discs. The rear brake setup includes a radial-pump master cylinder, a single calliper, and a 220mm brake disc. The bike now comes with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires.
  • Electronics and Rider Aids: The 2024 ZX-6R has various rider aids and electronic features. It includes a standard quickshifter, traction control, power mode selection, and the updated Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Brake System (KIBS). The KIBS uses data from speed sensors, front brake calliper hydraulic pressure, and the engine control unit to determine how the ABS is applied. The bike also has a new 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display and offers three integrated riding modes (Sport, Road, and Rain). Bluetooth connectivity is standard, allowing riders to connect their smartphones to the bike via Kawasaki’s Rideology App.
  • Styling: Kawasaki has revised the styling of the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R. It features a new front cowl, LED headlight and turn signal units, windscreen, and “3D interwoven bodywork.”
