Move over the expedition, there’s a new player in Antarctica — and it doesn’t have propellers.
Royal Enfield is the last company you probably thought would appear on this list, but here we are.
The Indian motorcycle manufacturer made a big splash this year. When they announced their plans to bring its “Himalayan” model to the South Pole by 2021.
A short while later, the Himalayan became the first machine to traverse it successfully.Making this adventure a strong possibility.
Despite Antarctica’s unpredictable weather conditions.Royal Enfield ensured everything was in place for an early departure.
The team prepped not just one but two Indian-made Himalayans if there were any issues along the way.
Royal Enfield had the idea to do something truly inspiring while also showing their bikes. Can handle some of the harshest conditions on our planet.
They planned a trip to the South Pole on two specially-kitted Himalayans. The whole point of this trip was to demonstrate this fact while also showing. How capable Royal Enfield motorcycles are of getting people where they need to go.
And considering that there are now dozens of Royal Enfields at the South Pole, it’s safe to say that Enfield accomplished their goal!
Royal Enfield wants to change the world. It is doing one project. And has achieved its second primary goal with the recently announced collaboration with Lead Rides & Community, Royal Enfield, Santhosh Vijay Kumar. Who plans to take two Himalayans to the South Pole; thus, Enfield planned to set off on December 14, 2021.
South Pole
They say it’s impossible to take two Himalayans to the South Pole in 2021. It’s a haul of 11,835 km kilometres from India, and the area of Antarctica is 14,200,000 km2, and the ride is brutal.
To get there, Enfield needed to be able to run without problems. So it made sure there were test rides at the expedition’s launch point.
The company also chose riders that could handle extreme conditions should they arise.
The video posted by Royal Enfield depicted two smiling and waving men were wearing warm winter clothing.
The duo was enjoying the ride in the snow in the video. On Tuesday, December 20, 2021. They made the video official on YouTube.
They are delighted to share two photographs of the two motorcycles getting tested in one of the harshest and hazardous terrains in the world, Antarctica. Of course, the photos are from the pre-event testing.
It’s a little known fact that motorcycles can go to the South Pole. Whether you’re a fan of Royal Enfield or not, everyone in the world is a fan of motorcycles going to the South Pole!
That’s big news. It’s also big news that two Himalayans have already been taken to the South Pole and are helping with building trails for the commuter bike (which is also going! We love it!) and testing it out on the conditions present there.
Congratulations to everyone who is part of this incredible feat.
