Every year, the nation’s motorcycle manufacturers roll out the latest and the greatest to keep the market fresh and fully loaded with options for all types of riders. This year is no different, so we’re all looking forward to seeing what the top brands have in store for us.
When the Yamaha XSR155 was first introduced, it had captured everyone’s imagination. It wasn’t just another run-of-the-mill 155cc retro bike from a brand that has made its share of them over the years.
The XSR is an honest-to-goodness throwback to when motorbikes were all about the fun.
Yes, the XSR won’t be winning any races due to its modest 19.3 hp output, but it surely will be one machine you can base your decisions on, should you ever get too old for that superbike you own.
New shades
To add to this theme of retro-remixed, Yamaha decided to give the bike two new colour schemes.
Yamaha has announced the availability of a Matte Dark Blue Authentic colour for the bike (A) and a Yamaha World Grand Prix 60th Anniversary livery that includes all-white coloured graphics on the tank and silver plate placed on the side (B). The dark blue paint gives the bike a simple, elegant look.
The white tank graphics and some additional aluminium accents complement this theme. There is also a silver plate on the side of the bike to give it a sense of class.
The all-new Yamaha XSR155 has just had two new colours launched for the 2017 model year. Manufactured by Japanese two-wheeler giant.
Yamaha, this next generation of the XSR range comes with an extra touch of retro styling to appeal both to young people who may want to learn how to ride a motorcycle and seasoned riders who will appreciate the authentic touches that only a retro motorcycle can provide while they’re out on the streets.
The first colourway available is inspired by historic racing liveries and resembles the yellow and black paint job present on Kenny Roberts’ YZR500 that he rode at many races back in 1980.
The bike contains an LED headlight and taillight and an LCD instrument panel with a retro-inspired look. The bike comes with a 155cc engine that produces a maximum power of 19.3 horsepower and 11 ft-lbs of torque.
