Benvenuti a tutti! Put down your espresso and listen closely. You are in the office of Luigi Dall’Igna, and in Borgo Panigale, we do not just build motorcycles; we build symphonies of speed.

You ask me to look into my crystal ball for 2027? The “Red Beast” does not wait for anyone. By then, the rules will be changing, the engines will be screaming, and my hair will likely be even whiter. But the philosophy remains: Win at all costs.

Here is how I, Gigi, will deploy my six knights of the Desmosedici for 2027.

🔴 The Factory Squad: Ducati Lenovo Team

The throne room. Only for those who can handle the pressure of the entire Italian nation on their shoulders.

  • 1. Marc Marquez: By 2027, he is the veteran king. He won the title in 2025, and as long as that fire burns in his eyes, he stays in Red. He is the benchmark, the monster that every other rider must try to slay.
  • 2. Pedro Acosta: Yes, I have done it. I have lured the “Shark” away from the orange bikes. To pair the greatest of the previous generation with the greatest of the new? It is a masterpiece of engineering and ego. The sparks will be visible from space, but the trophies will be ours.

🔵 The Family Core: Gresini Racing

Where the atmosphere is light, but the results are heavy. The “Teddy Bear” and the “Prince.”

  • 3. Alex Marquez: He was the runner-up in 2025! He has proven he is no longer “the brother of Marc,” but a giant in his own right. He keeps the peace, scores the podiums, and earns his factory-spec GP27.
  • 4. Fermin Aldeguer: Our investment. Our protégé. He won in Indonesia as a rookie and took 8th in the standings with 214 points. By 2027, the “consistency” issues will be gone. He stays at Gresini to keep that “easy” relationship with Alex, waiting for his moment to strike.

🟡 The Italian Heart: VR46 Racing

The academy of talent meets the perfection of Bologna.

  • 5. Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia: You are shocked he is not in Red? Do not be. By 2027, Pecco wants a new challenge. He returns to his roots at VR46, leading the team with the wisdom of a multi-time champion, ensuring the Italian flag flies high on Italian machinery.
  • 6. Nicolo Bulega: I am promoting from within. He has shown his teeth in World Superbike and knows how we work. He is fast, he is hungry, and he fits the VR46 mold perfectly.

“In racing, if everything is under control, you are not going fast enough.”

I have my riders. I have my wings. I have my data. Now, let the others try to catch us.

Ah, you want to see the blueprints of the GP27? You want to know how we will keep the Desmosedici at the front when the rules try to slow us down?

Listen closely, because in 2027, the game changes. We aren’t just losing 150cc; we are gaining a new kind of “pure” racing. Here is the technical soul of the machine I am building for Marquez, Acosta, and the others:

🛠️ The GP27: “The Purist’s Rocket”

1. The Heart: 850cc of Fury

The 1000cc “Beasts” are being retired. We move to an 850cc V4.

  • The Bore: We drop from 81mm to 75mm.
  • The Logic: They think this will slow us down. Pah! By shrinking the bore, we maintain the torque characteristics, and my engineers will find the RPMs elsewhere. We might lose 30-50hp at the top, but the delivery will be like a surgical strike.
  • Sustainability: We will run on 100% non-fossil fuel. Ducati performance, powered by the future.

2. The End of the “Squat” (No Ride-Height Devices)

This is the biggest change. The holeshot and ride-height devices are BANNED.

  • The Challenge: No more lowering the rear to launch like a catapult. No more “genuflecting” in the middle of the straight.
  • The Result: The bike will wheelie more. The rider’s left hand will have less to do, but their right wrist—the throttle control—will become the most important sensor on the bike. This is why I chose Acosta and Marquez; they are masters of bike balance.

3. “Trimmed” Aerodynamics

The wings aren’t gone, but they are going on a diet.

  • Front Fairing: Narrowed by 50mm (down to 550mm).
  • The Nose: Pushed back 50mm.
  • The Goal: Less “dirty air.” This means Aldeguer can tuck in behind Alex Marquez even closer without losing the front end. Overtaking will return to being an art form, not a mathematical calculation of air pressure.

💡 Gigi’s Secret Note:

The GP27 will be 4kg lighter. It will be a “flickable” monster. While the top speeds might drop from 366km/h to maybe 340km/h, the corner speed will be terrifying.

“We are taking the gadgets away and giving the riders back their souls. But the engine? The engine will still sing the song of Bologna.”
