The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is based on the standard Multistrada V4 but now comes to an even more extreme adaptation for the road.
Thanks to the wheel exchange from a 3.5×17 inch Marchesini cast wheel with a racing profile upfront and dynamic profile at the rear, combined with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires (120/70 and 190/55 R17), with a single-sided swingarm with 6×17 inch rim.
Pikes Peak promises a great deal. With this extensive equipment, the new model should be well suited for your favourite offroad.
We get to see semi-active Öhlins chassis – 48 USD fork and TTX36 shock absorber on the front. While on the opposite side, it shrinks by close to 10mms.
The front gets robust braking power with the upgraded double disc brake system. The disc brakes grow from 320 to 330mms.
Ducati replaces the Brembo monobloc pliers with M50 Stylema. There is also a slight change in chassis geometry. The wheelbase slightly grows from 1,567 to 1,595 mms.
The steering angle and caster reduces from 65.5 to 64.3 degrees and 102.5 to 120 mms, respectively. The entire package weighs 214 kilograms.
The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is not bad. On the contrary. And to be honest, it only offers the same performance as the standard model. And the performance specs are the same as the standard Multi V4, which are 170 hp at 10,500 rpm and 125 Nm at 8,750 rpm.
It has disappointed us a bit because Ducati has put much effort into developing this motorcycle.
However, the goal was to achieve exceptional results for this machine on all levels. When you read the press release, it is said that this bike is only around 214 kilos and therefore lighter than most other motorcycles in this segment.
The electronics package has a 6.5-inch TFT console with various riding modes like the newly introduced race and sport modes. The TFT also comes with multiple displays.
We also see blind sport monitoring, wheelie control, quickshifter, adaptive cruise control, cornering ABS and traction control.
The Pikes Peak comes identified with the most exclusive adv motorcycles. Ducati has always participated in this unique event with models full of individual characteristics, making it an unmistakable protagonist.
And therefore, it gets a low and narrow handlebar. Akrapovic is the standard exhaust, dark-tinted windshield and arrives with two paint schemes read and unique black.
You can also adjust the seat height from 840 to 860 mms. The 2022 Pikes Peak will come at 27,990 euros, and you can buy it from December 2021.
