Honda decided to hold a contest, inviting customizers from all over Europe to take part.
Ten of France’s best custom shops had signed on to be a part of it.They worked with the Spanish and Portuguese dealers to plan their builds.
And then there were rumours that Honda was bringing some contest with the bikes.
We never thought that they would pick one bike from each country, but we were wrong.
Honda Motor Europe recently announced the winner of their first-ever custom CB650R build competition.
Winners
After collecting over 7,000 votes, one excellent little café racer was crowned the victor with 29-percent of the vote. Mototrofa Honda’s CB650R Fenix went ahead with the ranks.

The same shop was awarded a CB650R from European motorcycle manufacturer Honda in an ironic twist of fate.
Aptly named the’ Fenix ‘for its fiery inspiration and fierce recovery, perfection was a must.
Fast, lightweight and aesthetically true to its inspiration.These words were the essence of the bike design and typified how we interpreted, or re-imagined, the concept of a café racer.
Thanks to the “R” in its name, connotations of retro race machines are complicated to avoid when considering Honda’s CB650R.
However, few would go so far as to create something as eye-catching as Portuguese dealership Mototrofa did with its interpretation of the bike.
Mototrofa’s Fenix is an undertaking that can only describe as stunning.
The Fenix shows the passion Mototrofa has for motorcycles.And it proves how much fun can be had with them if you keep an open mind about style and design.
A single-sided swingarm/rear-wheel arrives from the VFR750F. While the front comes from the CBR900RR Fireblade.
As far as second place goes, The Werther Honda’s CB650R BMX looks marquee in the gold wheels, whitewall tires and the gold logo.
