In the afternoon session of the German GP, Marc Marquez and the Repsol Honda Team faced difficulties and a crash in the closing stages. Despite the challenges, Marquez had a solid start to the day during the first practice, consistently challenging for the top position on the time sheets. He ended the session in second place, just 0.152 seconds behind Johann Zarco.

Session
However, the afternoon session was affected by a consistent downpour, leading to slower track conditions. Yellow and red flags also plagued the session due to multiple crashes.
Unfortunately, Marquez was one of the riders who fell, losing the front end of his bike while on a flying lap into Turn One. As a result, he collided with Johann Zarco, who was exiting the pitlane. Thankfully, both riders escaped the incident without any serious injuries.

Despite the setback, Marquez finished the Friday session in 14th place, with a best lap time of 1’20.854. The focus now shifts to Saturday, where the MotoGP field will compete for pole position. Marquez will participate in Q1, aiming to secure one of the two transfer spots allowing him to advance to the Q2 session, where the top riders vie for pole position.
Marc Marquez
“We have had a difficult Friday, even if it started in a good way, but we reached our limit quite soon and we need to keep working on the setup and the bike. Unfortunately, I crashed and Zarco was leaving pitlane. It was very lucky that we both escaped, I went to see Johann after to make sure he was okay. I crashed like many riders in Turn 1, I was pushing for a hot lap, and if there was anyone who could avoid the situation it was Zarco. If it’s my mistake, I always accept it. A complicated day here, tomorrow we keep trying to improve the feeling.”
