Moto Guzzi has been cruising at its own pace in recent years, churning out just a handful of new models each year.
While this approach has served the company well, it’s yet to make a fully-fledged invasion into global markets like India and China.
The Moto Guzzi Sport-Tourer is its first long-range cruiser for quite some time. And we expect it to make a severe dent in new and growing emerging markets.
However, now the Moto Guzzi Sport-Tourer has been spotted at an Italian photoshoot. And it looks like the Italian marque is celebrating its 100th anniversary in style.
While details are scarce, Sport Rider mentions that the bike will be a “large, air-cooled, V-twin with a shaft drive.”
Those of you familiar with Moto Guzzi’s newest motorcycle. The Stelvio 1000cc, knows that it boasts a V-twin paired with a shaft drive.Which makes us believe that the Sport-Tourer will be nothing short of epic.
And this 1000cc powerplant will calibrate to make 120 horses. And will meet the stringent European emissions regulations.
The tourer
The ride-and-handling miracle that is the Moto Guzzi sport-tourer. Would be remarkable enough were it not for how thoroughly modern the retro-themed Italian bike has become.
In stock form, as witnessed by our Mauro Lardini, an avid reader of Moto.It.
Many details on the upcoming Moto Guzzi Sport-Tourer are not known. But in terms of official images and real-life sightings, we were pretty much riding blind.
As usual, the model in question was covered in stickers to hide the shape of the bike. However, thanks to the photographer’s lens, we can now see a piece.
The Sport-Tourer sports semi-faired bodywork. And a small windscreen that might be road touring essentials for some buyers.
However, Moto Guzzi’s traditional ally CAAD is said to be in the works as an optional package. With cafe racer styling and an exposed rear subframe.
Although there is no word on when Moto Guzzi will launch this motorcycle. The rumour mill claims that the new model will hit the production line early next year.
The Sport-Tourer model is expected to be unveiled at EICMA 2021.Along with the manufacturer’s 2022 lineup.
The touring model receives more room for both rider and passenger, with a larger screen and comfortable seat making it more suitable for long-distance rides.
