Meanwhile, the F 900 XR Police Edition comes primarily aimed at highway patrol use. With a top speed of 200 kilometres per hour, this variant derives power from an 895cc parallel-twin motor.

Side cases are also part of the package, as are LED lights upfront.

And again, there’s a siren.Although wouldn’t it be more fitting if this one were for the long-range radar guns used to generate speeding infraction tickets?

The F 800 R-based BMW F 800 XR Police Edition.Intended for use on closed-road public order duty, unlike its CE-04 sibling which comes optimized for inner-city use.Rather than the highway—gets provisions for luggage storage, and side-cases.

With the help of a 30 kW electric motor, it has a top speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

Its design certainly is excellent, and BMW claims it can travel up to 130 km on a single charge.Which should be more than enough distance for a day’s worth of patrolling  provided, of course. It isn’t involved in any high-speed pursuits with mopeds and e-bikes.
