The segment of 125cc motorcycles has been growing at a steady pace in Europe over the past couple of years. With more and more new riders jumping on the bandwagon each year.
However, most of these riders are stuck on what is essentially entry-level machinery.Trying to take care of business on bikes which, while nimble and easy to ride, offer very little in terms of performance.
Further, strict licensing regulations have influenced several 125cc-class bikes to enter the European market. However, these machines are pale compared to their larger-displacement counterparts as far as performance goes.
However, one manufacturer genuinely interested in meeting the specific rider needs of newbie riders living in Europe has been Suzuki.
Today, we take a look at both the Suzuki GSX-R 125 and the GSX-S 125. Two different machines with a single philosophy in mind – to provide the best riding experience out there with one single goal: “maximum riding pleasure.”
Suzuki is preparing to launch updated versions of its GSX-R and GSX-S sportbikes in 2022.

The updates include Euro 5 compliance and a slightly revised 124.6cc.Liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that revs higher by 500 RPM and now makes 15 horsepower.
The GSX-Ss are naked and sport full bodywork, while the GSX-Rs are more traditional naked bikes with no fairings.
Both these machines carry the same engine. Suzuki announced the new GSX-R and GSX-S 125 machines making their way to Europe by early 2022.
These will be the only two motorcycles from Suzuki to feature a 125cc class in its range. With the rest of its lineup featuring larger capacity models.
The GSX-S will arrive in three shades black, white and blue. While its fully-faired sibling GSX-R will come in two shades of black and blue.
The company did not reveal the launch date and prices for either motorcycle. Which are expected to hit the neighbourhood of around $4,100 when they launch (likely around Q2 of 2022, though the company has yet to confirm ).
