Traditional, rigid (and large) motorcycle helmets might be practical for protecting us from injury in road accidents and other types of impacts. But, as we all know, these are bulky, heavy, and uncomfortable to wear. This is why Schuberth introduced a new modular helmet design called C5 Carbon.

Schuberth C5 Carbon
The Schuberth C5 Carbon is the first-ever Schuberth performance motorcycle helmet. Its entire Carbon shell is handmade at Schuberth Performance by the same hands of our highly specialized technicians, who manufacture Formula 1 helmet.
Thanks to manual lamination and the autoclave curing processes, the shell of C5 Carbon combines exceptionally lightweight with unparalleled performance. The new SchuberthC5 Carbon features the P/J double homologation and respects the stringent ECE 22.06 standards.
The entire Carbon shell of the new C5 Carbon is produced with the same lamination and Autoclave curing processes of our Car Racing helmets. Still, even more critical, the shell is handmade by the same highly specialized technicians who produce the helmets of the current Formula 1 World Champion.
The manufacturing process of the new C5 Carbon is based on the “one man, one shell” principle. This means the technician who starts the lamination has to complete the entire shell production process.
At the end of the lamination process, the Carbon mould is closed. It goes to the vacuum station, where dedicated operators carefully wrap and vacuum each mould to prepare it for the curing cycle in the autoclave.
The Schuberth performance autoclaves generate a combination of pressure and temperature within a precise time frame scheme. A cycle lasting up to four hours transforms the Carbon fibre layers and their resin into a monolithic piece. Which can offer outstanding mechanical strength and lightweight performance.
Schuberth performance helmets are painted by a highly specialized and renowned company with many years of experience as a certified supplier of the most iconic supercar brands.
Ventilation makes the C5 Carbon a game-changer in the Flip-up helmet category. An optimum head thermoregulation maximizes rider performance and comfort.
For this reason. The C5 Carbon is designed to combine the ultimate ventilation with the dual chin air intake with an exchangeable filter. Combined with a new back spoiler featuring air exhaust and uncovered EPS ventilation channels.
How safe is it?
At Schuberth, safety is the main focus. The C5 Carbon, thanks to its entire Carbon shell, offers outstanding mechanical strength and is extremely lightweight. The new C5 Carbon features the P/J double homologation and respects the strict ECE-R 22.06 standard.
Like the whole SCHUBERTH collection, the C5 Carbon benefits of the Anti-Roll-Off-System are connected with a chin strap in a new advanced position for improved comfort in the throat area.
The most advanced technology just for your Schuberth C5 Carbon. Extremely easy to install, configure and use, SC2 sets a new standard for motorcycle communication. The HD speakers and three antennas for FM Radio, Bluetooth Intercom and Mesh Intercom are already pre-installed in the Schuberth C5 Carbon.
The SC2 is extremely simple to install: Plug in the HD BOOM microphone, remove the covers at the back of the helmet, free the remote control housing on the side, plug both in, turn them on, and you are ready to ride!
Schuberth C5 family sets a new benchmark in terms of comfort. The standard head pad has been developed to offer uncompromised comfort to all our customers. But those with “extreme head shapes” are usually forced to compromise with fit and sizes.
For Schuberth, compromise is not an option, so with the C5 family, we introduce the “Individual program”. A specific program aimed to ensure maximum comfort to the rider. Allowing the option to customize the internal padding with more thickness options for sides, back and cheek pads.
(Head Pad customization available for sizes M/L/XL).
Thanks to the new Mesh 2.0 technology, the Schuberth SC2 delivers an unparalleled level of intercom connections redefining the concept of a “communication network”. With Mesh 2.0 technology, connecting with virtually limitless participants is now possible.
In addition, the new system offers the latest HD speakers and Microphone by Sena, advanced noise Control. A digital assistant and a range comparable to the most performing products available.
Little details always distinguish between a standard helmet and a Schuberth. Introduced on the E1 peak, the memory function feature is now also included on the C5 Carbon visor. With this function, whatever exact position is selected with the chin bar closed will be maintained after opening and closing the chin bar.
The Schuberth C5 Carbon confirms its leading position in aeroacoustics comfort with only 85 dB(A) at 100 km/h in a naked bike.
Thanks to our in-house wind tunnel. Schuberth has optimized every component into the aeroacoustics comfort inside and outside the helmet. The result is an unparalleled soundproofing level enriched by the brand-new neckroll.
The C5 will cost you €1,499 (about $1,636).
