It looks like Triumph is all set to bring the new Tiger 850 Sport and the Tiger 850 Sport will get max specs from its older sibling Tiger 900. Do we see the new Triumph Tiger 2021? Well this is something debatable
Current Triumph Adventure Range
However, the new Tiger 850 Sport may not have off-roading capabilities. The details come from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. And looking ar the above Triumph Adventure Range the Tiger 850 Sport will fit between the Tiger 800 and Tiger 900 GT Range.
The present Tiger 900 comes with 888cc, liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder motor which effectivley makes 95.2 PS / 93.9 bhp (70 kW) @ 8,750 rpm and 87 Nm @ 7,250 rpm.
Tiger 850 Sport
Further, the Tiger 850 Sport specs will remain the same as the Tiger 900.
Which effectively means there is only the name change.
In the U.S. the Tiger 1050 SE (Sport) arrived in 2012. While in 2016 the other regions did receive the amended Sports model. The Tiger Sport may not align with the Euro5 standards.
Rivals
The new Tiger 850 Sport will rival with BMW F900XR and Yamaha Tracer 900.
Yamaha Tracer 900
The Tracer 900 comes with 847cc liquid-cooled motor with D.O.H.C., inline 3-cylinder; 12 valves and churns 115 hp (86 kW) @ 10,000 rpm with 64.5 lb⋅ft (87.5 N⋅m) @ 8,500 rpm.
Yamaha Tracer 900
Tracer 900 is capable of having a top speed of 140 mph (230 km/h), and in the U.S. it retails at $12,999.
BMW F900XR
On the other hand, the F900XR gets 895cc, water-cooled 4-stroke in-line two-cylinder engine, four valves per cylinder, two overhead camshafts, dry sump lubrication with output as 77 kW / (105 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm .
BMW F900XR
The F900XR has the top speed of 200 km/h.
In the U.S. F900XR retails at $11,695. It is logical Triumph will try and position its pricing between the Tracer 900 and F900XR.
As far as the arrival goes, we may not see it soon, probably in 2021.
New Rocket 3 variants
The other good news is U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also gave the go-ahead to two new 2021 Rocket 3 variants, and they are Rocket 3 R Black and Rocket 3 G.T. Triple Black.
