US filings show Honda CL500 Scrambler, ADV160, and New Grom

American Honda Motor Company has filed documentation for the CL500 as a 2023 model, indicating plans to bring the bike to the US market. The “CL500A” designation suggests that the US version will be equipped with a valuable safety feature, a standard ABS (anti-lock braking system).

It’s common for Honda to introduce new models in different markets before launching them in the US. This allows them to gauge consumer interest and adapt the product if necessary.

While there may not be an official announcement regarding the CL500’s availability in the US, the EPA certification documents provide strong evidence that the bike will be offered in the United States.

1. 2024 Honda CL500: This bike will be manufactured by Thai Honda and powered by a 472cc parallel twin engine, similar to the one in the Rebel 500. The claimed power output is 34.2 kilowatts (or 45.8 horsepower) at 8,200 rpm. It will feature a six-speed gearbox and will likely come with standard ABS.
2. 2024 Honda ADV160: Also manufactured by Thai Honda, the ADV160 will be equipped with a 157cc four-valve single-cylinder engine. The claimed power output is 11.7 kilowatts (or just under 15.7 horsepower) at 8,250 rpm. Further details about this model should be provided in the given information.
3. 2024 Honda Grom and Grom ABS: These updated versions of the popular Grom models will be powered by a 124cc two-valve single-cylinder engine, similar to the current Grom and Grom ABS.
