When Honda launched the 2022 version of CB500X in international markets. We loved it for its versatility but panned the bike for being underpowered and a little uncomfortable.
That’s why it was surprising when the company revealed plans to launch. An updated version of the motorcycle in India as early as 2022.
As it turns out, Honda’s plans for the upgrade aren’t restricted to just engine performance. Here’s all you need to know about the all-new India-bound CB500X.
However, the motorcycle is known for its versatility with its comfortable riding position. And good engine performance. Honda has updated the CB500X with a fresh look, including a new shade and an all-new front suspension setup.
Honda has updated their popular commuter motorcycle CB500X for the 2022 model year. The updated motorcycle is present in the international markets. As for India, there is no confirmation about its launch yet.
However, since Honda doesnt plan to launch any CBR models in India and Honda recently unveiled the 2022 version of CB300R.We expect Honda to introduce an all-new CB500X, even if it arrives late.
Changes
Shade
The most significant change we see on the side of the fuel tank. And front fender as both now comes painted in pearl organic green.Enhancing the bike’s looks while the rear stays black.
Suspension setup
Another significant change Honda has updated the suspension with the new Showa SF-BPF inverted forks instead of telescopic forks. Now, this is something we see on Honda’s large cc motorcycles.
Brakes
This time around, the India-bound CB500X (launched in 2022) gets an all-new brakes setup. The 2022 model receives the two 296mm discs supported by ABS. Instead of the single 310mm disc on the outgoing model.
Gets lighter
As opposed to many touring motorcycles you see around.Which are more focused on comfort and leisure, the CB500X is more on the performance-minded side. The 2022 midsize adv now gets a lighter front wheel made from cast aluminium sheds 1 kg.
No change in the engine
The Honda CB500X was a raging success in the global markets where it was launched. The entry-level adventure tourer got great reviews from both the experts and the users, who were impressed with its unique riding dynamics for a motorcycle of its size.
The 2022 model differs from the last-gen bike in many ways, but Honda has kept unchanged one aspect that matters most – the engine. It has the same 47bhp producing 499cc parallel-twin motor. However, the throttle response is smooth and refined.
Availability and price
With the price of Rs 6.87 lakh price tag, the new model is also India-bound on a CKD (completely knocked down) unit from Japan sometime this year, but we expect it to cost over the current model and will take a while before Honda introduces the localised version CBR500X in India.
It might not be the best looking off-roader, but the Honda CB500X is undoubtedly the best value for money in terms of performance.
