With the advent of rising fuel prices and the ensuing pollution, Yamaha has been on a mission to push the idea of sustainable mobility in India.
The Fascino was their first offering in the hybrid segment. With more such offerings expected from them in future.
Today sees Yamaha adding another entry to this segment. Yes, they are launching yet another hybrid scooter here. Let’s dive into details on this new entrant onto the scene.
The Ray ZR, which falls under the manufacturer’s scooter segment, has a more balanced appearance than most of the scooters in its segment.
The cost of this minimalistic design makes the Ray ZR look almost a foot larger than it is; however, it is a relatively compact scoot.
Scooters have a moment of resurgence. And Yamaha is determined to make the Ray ZR 125 the scooter of choice for young, urban India.
At the same time, Yamaha has ensured that the new bike is not just another niche offering with zero brand recall.
That’s because the Ray ZR 125 borrows several elements. Yamaha’s successful Mio-MX range of scooters, including the front face of its body panels.
Yamaha has provided the Y Connect app that displays battery voltage, engine health, and more to monitor vital statistics.
Further, it also shows the last know location, riding history, distance travelled, fuel economy and more.
When it comes to the engine, it gets the same setup as Fascino, which has an electric motor help by a combustion engine.
The model’s price is still under the wrap. However, we will get to see the bikes with dealers in the coming weeks.
