For the first time in a long time, Tork Motors has returned to the spotlight. Back when the company first became a recognized participant in the EV industry. It introduced an electric two-wheeler concept dubbed Kratos.

Instead of a heavyweight cruiser design typical of most of its peers. The Indian manufacturer designed an electric platform for street use.

The brand hasn’t been heard from since 2016, but that’s all set to change. Now, at long last. Tork Motors has made a big announcement unveiling its all-new Kratos Electric Motorcycle in India.

Back then, we had very little to go by as far as specifications and details were concerned.

Tork Motors revealed their very first electric motorcycle on Livestream yesterday (Jan. 26, 2022). And we are sure you will agree the Kratos is a rather exciting bike. The company has been working on it for years. And it’s finally time for the world to see what Tork Motors had in mind when coming up with this electric motorcycle.

We want to start by saying we have seen people complaining about Tork releasing an electric bike given the price point. But to be honest, most of you are missing the point here. 

Kratos isn’t meant to compete with the likes of Zero Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson’s Livewire. But rather serve as a gateway model for new riders to get into the next generation of motorcycles.

Kratos and Kratos R specs

The Tork Kratos is the newest edition of this family-oriented electric bike. According to the company, the Kratos X gets a new Axial Flux motor. Which produces good peak power and continuous power outputs, promising an efficiency rating of 90 to 96 per cent. 

The battery pack comes equipped with an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery system allows for a smaller pack size and improved safety. The bike gets an impressive ground clearance of 165mm.

With electric motorcycles are becoming more and more popular. We are finally starting to see some more’ normal-looking electric motorcycles. 

The clean lines of the Tork Kratos are much closer to a regular motorcycle than most other electric motorcycles that look nothing like their non-electric counterparts. 

Motor 

It gives potential electric motorcycle riders something they can connect with in terms of style.

The Kratos and Kratos R look like the perfect machines for younger enthusiasts. Anyone will tell you riding both these bikes is exhilarating in its own right. Imagine riding one can go around 75 miles per hour on a single charge.

Tork Motors’ Kratos is breaking new ground with its Axial Flux electric motorcycle technology with a power output of 10 horsepower and a peak torque of 28 Nm (21 ft-lb). Further, the bike goes from zero to 25 miles per hour in four seconds and has a top speed of 60 miles per hour.

Supported by 4 kWh LIION 21700 battery. On the other hand, Kratos R comes with 12hp of power and 28 ft-lbs torque. Kratos R can reach 25 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 65 miles per hr.

The Kratos comes at around Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), close to $1,500. The high-end version Kratos R comes at Rs 1.23 lakh, close to $1,650.
