The Buell series of motorcycles deliver a performance-oriented riding experience that only a V-Twin engine and carbon fiber streetfighter/sportbikes could provide.
Made by riders, it’s no surprise that these street machines are at their best on the track or the road!
You can’t spell high performance without Buell. Literally. The Buell name was born out of the performance motorcycle industry.
Founded by motorcycle legend Erik Buell, the American company quickly rose to prominence with an unrivalled commitment to racing.
Innovated through every aspect of the sport, on the back of the technology born out of racing success. The spirit of performance lives on in Buell motorcycles today.
With Buell coming back, there is much excitement within the Buell community as they plan to bring four new models.
- Hammerhead 1190
- 1190 SX
- Supertouring and
- 1190 HCR
All these models are 1000 plus cc. However, looking at a few Buell forums, and to our much excitement, there is a comparison of
- Hammerhead 1190 vs Yamaha R1 and
- 1190SX vs 2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke R
However, in this article, we compare the 1190SX with the 2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
Buell 1190SX
The Buell 1190SX Carbon Fiber is a true high-performance motorcycle with a racing heritage. Designed to be a dominating street machine, the 1190SX is equally at home carving canyons on the open road or taking on the city’s concrete canyons.
The 1190SX is a lightweight, mass centralization optimized package. The Buell 1190SX was a modern muscle bike that came with enough power to haul down most bikes of its time while being more comfortable on longer rides.
2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke R
A bike for those who may be called sinners. For its engine is GOD-like – because of meeting the limits of physics.
The feeling when this naked bike is throwing you out of any risky situation is just as adrenaline calls you to challenge the boundaries again and again. Adrenaline is an emotion as extreme as the KTM 1290 Super Duke R itself.
Ever since the KTM 1290 Super Duke R got out of the gate, it became an instantly recognizable figure in the world of naked bikes with its unique silhouette, outstanding performance and high power.
Thanks to countless detail improvements, the new version raises the bar even higher, with the most weight savings made possible by KTM’s innovative technologies.
Overall Comparison
- While we may see the price of Buell 1190SX less compared to the new 2021 1290 Superduke R. However there is absence of ABS in Buell 1190SX and strong electronic package. Further there are riders who may not need the ABS and my enjoy more power and on the other hand Buell may have this point in their mind.
- As of now the 1190SX is not aligned to Euro5 norms which again shows it is limited to US.However Buell may plan to do it in future and this will open European market for them.
However we would like to keep this debate open.
