None of this is to say that the Chinese-Swedish car brand Lynk & Co.’s approach isn’t without risks.
Established brands are pushing back against the company’s sales model – but that hasn’t stopped it from attracting customers en masse.
But Lynk & Co. is not content with just taking on established motorcycle brands – it also views itself as an alternative to car rental companies and taxi services.
The company sees its bikes as viable for urban commuting and plans to partner with local municipalities and regional transit authorities to integrate the service into their existing transportation offerings.
Because the company already has a leasing program in place that offers insurance, maintenance, tax and more.
In 2016, Geely sold a stake in the company that owns the Benelli brand, the Chinese conglomerate Qianjiang.
The Italian conglomerate then became mandated with revamping all aspects of Benelli’s business strategy and product portfolio.
The new TNT 600
As a result, the TNT 600 platform was revamped with a new name and a new design language in preparation for re-launching as Lynk & Co.’s first bike.
The new Swedish company has rebadged the already successful Benelli TNT 600 as the Lynk & Co. Variant and Lynk & Co. QJ SRK 600—which will be offered in single trim: ABS model.
To create Lynk & Co., the automaker teamed up with Geely. The latter’s design team worked on the brand’s initial two models, which are essentially re-branded versions of the Benelli TNT 600 and its naked counterpart, the QJ SRK 600.
The former is based on the latter but features revised styling to make it look entirely new.
The Benelli TNT 600 and QJ SRK 600 feature 600 cc inline-four-cylinder engines that produce 80 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 50 lb-ft of torque.
Brembos perform the braking duties. The design and maximum components remain identical to the TNT 600. However, it does get the new swingarm with KYB Suspension.
What makes a difference is the yellow gold livery that looks subtle to the eyes.
Will you be able to lease this new TNT 600? Well, the company, as of now, dont have any plan. However, all we know right now is that the livery looks very cool
