Quartararo made sure he stayed at the top of the table. While Bagnaia was ahead at the start, he went down in Lap 2. And this made sure the duel was between Zarco and Quartararo.
Zarco, too, was ahead of Quartararo, and however persistent. Quartararo took his time to slip across corners leaving Zarco behind with ease.
Further, KTM’s Oliveria caught Zarco in a duel, and later both Mir and Rins of Suzukis too.
Later, Suzukis main man, Mir, pushed Zarco on the fourth position and earlier. We saw Oliveira climbing the second position ahead of Zarco with eight laps to go.
Rins, too went hand in hand and was fighting closely with Zarco to fourth before he crashed.
Oliveria beat Mir to stand second. At the same time, Aleix Espargaro returned after his arm pump surgery. Further, Ducati’s test rider Michele Pirro took Jorge Martin’s place, who is injured stood thirteen.
We still saw Marc Marquez struggling with his right shoulder.
The KTM’s Binder equalled the official MotoGP top speed record of 362.4km/h (225.2mph) set by Zarco in Qatar earlier this year in FP3 at Mugello.
In the memory of Moto 3 rider Jason Dupasquier, a one minute silence was observed before the race. Today Jason lost his life after being involved in the fatal crash at turns 9 and 10, the Moto3 Qualifying 2 session at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley.
