While we like to think of Brabus as a Mercedes and Mayback specialist since 1977.The tuning company’s latest endeavour proves that it can do more than upgrade luxurious cars.
Brabus was initially a racing and tuning shop that acted specifically on Mercedes Benz vehicles if you turn back the clock. They began using their unique style to tune and enhance the performance of vehicles.
This has garnered them recognition for their sleek modifications and pushed the firm into becoming a large scale tuning company.
Brabus has now officially waded into the motorcycle market with the Brabus 1300 R motorcycle set. We would just like to point out that this bike is no April Fool’s joke, and oh my God, it’s a ridiculous beauty.
The Super Duke 1290 R is the favourite KTM of all time and always will be. So we could not be more pleased to see it in this brutish form.
The Brabus 1300 R is a high-performance motorcycle set for release in future. It won’t be an entirely new model under the brand.Instead, Brabus is adding some performance upgrades for the KTM 1290 Super Duke R and RR.
Brabus 1300 R Trademark
The company has applied for the trademark of “Brabus 1300 R”, which would apply to motorcycles.Structural parts for motorcycles, parts and fittings for land vehicles.
And two-wheeled motor vehicles (including scooters). It was filed with EUIPO back in August. But the European Office granted Brabus last week.
The standard R Super Duke version comes with liquid-cooled, 1,301cc V-twin makes 180 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque. The RR has the same motor.
However, here the RR has less weight which is 179 kgs, compared to 200, which is on R trim.
We assume the Brabus 1300 R’s weight may well be between the weight of these two trims. And we also get lightweight carbon fibre components and other lightweight parts to manage the weight.
Further, we also changed the Super Dukes dimensions, which is a change in wheelbase 5mm (.2 inches) short compared to the 1290s. Which indicates final drive gear change.
The width will be shortened by 30mm (1.9 inches). Wherein we could see clips or short handlebars.
It will come as no surprise that the speed demons at Brabus are working on it already. After all, there is new potential to be discovered in every one of these combinations.
Let’s see how the story unfolds. We’ll have to wait and see. However, Kramer Motorcycles offers their aftermarket products for KTM.And they have already worked on 690 Duke and 890 Duke R for years.
And if you’re unfamiliar with Krämer Motorcycles. You might want to acquaint yourself with what the brand has been doing.
It would appear that the folks at KTM think enough of them to bring them into the fold. When designing unique models. But as of now, we see Brabus.
