Change is afoot here at Freesound Customs (see what I did there?). And the crew’s latest build seems like an appropriate way to illustrate it.
What was once a BMW R 65 has been transformed into The Change of Season.A twist on the old saw about summer turning to fall, even if we’re still smack-dab in the middle of summer.
The Freesound Customs team wanted to create a leisurely bike ride around town but could also be taken on the occasional highway jaunt.
To that end, they started with an R 65 because it had the most power out of the stock BMW flat-twin bikes.
Freesound Customs’ in-house fabrication department rebuilt the bike.
The stock engine was removed and replaced with an electric motor. That calibrates to peak power by 15kW (20 horsepower). The bike also arrives with a 72V battery.
The Freesound Customs made sure the boxer’s clutch, and five-speed transmission remains intact.
When Freesound Customs got ahold of a vintage BMW R 65, they decided to give it some attitude. And as we can see, they succeeded.
The custom
The mighty BMW boxer twin engine powers the bike and its new streetfighter from Freesound Customs.
But that wasn’t enough for this transformation. So the designers ditched the stock exhaust system and inked exclusive artwork instead.
