The Porsche eBike Cross Performance and eBike Cross Performance EXC are the latest e-bikes released by Porsche in collaboration with the e-bike brand Rotwild.

These bikes showcase Porsche’s ambition to establish itself in the e-bike market, which has been gaining popularity in recent years. Unlike their previous e-bikes, built in partnership with Fazua and Greyp, these new models are a joint venture with Rotwild.

Sharing the same platform

Both the Cross Performance and Cross Performance EXC models share the same platform, but the EXC stands out with its unique colour options, contributing to its higher price. The bike’s design takes inspiration from the sleek roofline of the Porsche Taycan, evident in the sloping baseline from the head to the dropout. The bikes’ frame, wheels, and cockpit are all carbon fibre, ensuring a lightweight and high-performance build.

Battery

Regarding performance, the e-bikes feature the Shimano EP-801 motor and a 630-watt-hour battery pack. Porsche does not provide specific range claims, but they assure that the battery will deliver maximum performance on the trail. The bikes have a high-end 12-speed Shimano drivetrain with AutoShift functionality, allowing gear changes without pedalling. The drivetrain also incorporates Free Shift technology for seamless shifting.

The suspension system consists of a Fox 34 Float Factory suspension fork at the front and a Fox Float DPS Factory shock at the rear, providing 120 millimetres and 100 millimetres of travel, respectively.

Hardware

The e-bikes roll on Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon wheels and feature Magura MT7 brakes for reliable stopping power. These top-of-the-line components will undoubtedly impress mountain biking enthusiasts who appreciate high-quality features.

However, the impressive technology and premium components come at a considerable price. The standard Cross Performance model is priced at $14,250, making it the most affordable option.

The Porsche eBike Cross Performance EXC, with its exceptional colour options including Star Ruby Neo, Ice Gray Metallic, Mamba Green Metallic, Carmine Red, Shade Green Metallic, and Shark Blue, carries a price tag of $15,350.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Porsche eBike Cross Performance and eBike Cross Performance EXC:
