Triumph Tiger Sport 1050

As of late, Triumph has decided to strengthen its position in the middle adventure segment by launching a new generation bike from the award-winning Tiger family. 

The bike is already present in the international market.And will arrive in India soon.

Hinckley-based motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles has recently unveiled a new two-wheeled model called the Tiger 660 2022.

With a more compact frame built for better handling. And designed with a shorter wheelbase to improve stability, this new 3-cylinder engine performance is superior in its class. 

These features come in a more modern frame the perfect package for bikers who like an adventure with value for price and performance in the mid-level adventure motorcycle class. 

The Tiger 660 2022 comes with all the functionalities of an adventure motorbike, such as rugged tires and footpegs, but it is compact enough to be manoeuvred easily by riders in busy city traffic.

The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 2022 has now come into the main centre stage with the addition of an inline-triple engine that can generate 81 PS / 80 bhp (59.6 kW) @ 10,250 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm @ 6,250 rpm.

The motorbike has enhanced handling and stability.

The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 features a digital TFT console with smartphone connectivity, music, navigation and GoPro control.

Further, the electronics has two riding modes (road and rain), Slip & assist clutch and all LED lighting, with self-cancelling indicators.

Tiger 660 has Showa upside-down forks and a remote preload-adjustable mono-shock rear suspension unit for suspension.

With an 835mm seat height, the bike is a bit high. Further, the tires are 120/70 for the front and 170/55 with 17-inch wheels. The entire package weighs 206 kgs and gets 17 litres fuel tank.

The new Tiger 660 arrives with Nissin brake callipers with ABS and Michelin Road 5 tyres.

The new Tiger retails at £8,450.00 in the UK and gets three paint schemes.

The new Triumph Tiger 660 looks impressive and takes its competition to the task. 

If Triumph does an excellent job with pricing, it could turn out to be a great model for riders looking for a stylish machine turns heads without being too expensive.

However, in India, we expect a premium price tag over the Trident 660,  at around Rs 8-9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price range.

The new Tiger Sport 660 will compete with rivals like Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
