By building the exclusive FTR 750, the US motorcycle manufacturer has entered in American hill climb championship.
Now it isn’t something new for Indian as it was already present in the hill climb series 80 years ago.
Indian has some good lineup in the cruisers and flat tracker.
FTR750
The FTR750 goes under severe modification as it made capable of going on the hills and harsh terrain.
At the front, the Indian mechanics had put up a cross fork with 21-inch spoked wheel combined with a disc brake.
At the rear too you could see the spoked wheel. The steel made swing arm is elongated with a central hinged spring strut.
The FTR750 also gets the comfortable seating position, fuel tank, which is carbon moulded and custom made handlebar.
Exhaust and the manifold takes new shapes. Plus not to forget the large tyres for better grip and traction.
The retuned V2 engine to make sure it aligns to the hill-climbing conditions. The flyer clutch comes from Rekluse. However, there are no specs or performance details available.
We could see Indian winning the race as they have hired John “Flying” Koester who is ten-time ama pro Hillclimb champion.
With Indian joining the hill-climbing bandwagon we could see more manufacturers coming into this space.
