The Austrian brand KTM is not sitting ideal while in Europe we see KTM in a process to update its 1290  series to comply it to Euro5 and bringing in the limited edition ‘Super Duke 1290 RR‘.

However, in India we see KTM getting more aggressive in lower displacement motorcycles.

KTM today has unleashed the BS6 variant of its much-acclaimed 250 Adventure a younger sibling to 390 Adventure.


Let’s get in the nitty-gritty of the new launched 250 Adventure.


With 248.8cc, 1-cylinder, 4-stroke liquid cool motor is capable of making 29.5bhp of power and 24Nm of torque.

Twin head camshafts, four-valve and electronic fuel injection together combined with balancer shaft, ensures smooth delivery.

Further, the Euro5/BS6 motor is lightweight and is compact, which facilitates a straight air intake channel, which is responsible for shortened distance for ait to flow in the combustion chamber.

It also allows making the engine warmer in less time. The fuel tank ventilation system and two catalytic converters help to reduce the emission values.

Additionally for durability, the 72mm piston is coated with DLC. The oil spray nozzle cools the crown while the piston arrives with the nickel coated low friction aluminium wet bushing.

To offer extreme reliability and low friction. The cylinder head follows the same tech as it is present in the 1290 Super adventure with four valves actuated via durable finger followers by two overhead camshafts.

For consistent performance, the finger levers come coated with DLC. The BOSCH electronic fuel injection system made in collaboration with DELL’ORTO 38 mm throttle body guarantees precise throttle response.

Design and Chassis

The race-proven trellis frame is stable and ultra-lightweight and comes loan from the KTM 450 Rally. The 63.5 ° steering head angle combined with 1430(+/-15.5 mm) suggests the 250 adventure is an offroad model.

The subframe is removable comes fixed with the mainframe with the help of four screws. The mainframe and the subframe combine to form a lethal combination to carry heavy luggage while negotiating the challenging conditions.

The WP APEX 43 on the front with 170mm travel is an ideal combination of travel and has a fantastic response and damping features.

The rear shock is agile and has a 177mm travel is ideal for travelling long distances in harsh conditions. The rear shock comes spring load pre adjustable and comes adjusted to various loads.

The WP Apex suspension in front and rear works flawlessly in tandem with chassis to provide excellent control and comfort.

The wheels are 19inch front, and 17inch at the rear comes with MRF Mogrip-Meteor FM2 tires. 

The front-wheel and rear wheels are robust to carry offroad duties.

  • The front is 100/90 -19 tubeless MRF Mogrip-Meteor FM2 with 2.5mm rim.
  • The rear is 130/80 -17 tubeless MRF Mogrip-Meteor FM2 with 3.5mm rim.


The BYBRE hight quality brakes come with significant braking duties.

The 320mm front disc brake and 230mm rear disc works well with four-piston radial fixed calliper and single-piston floating calliper respectively.

The 250 adventure has a massive 14.5liter fuel tank with excellent fuel economy.

The windshield can be mounted in lower and higher positions as per riders needs.

The KTM offers a list of power parts for its new 250 adventure, and they are radiator protection grille, GPS brackets, crash bungs, headlamp protection, and handlebar pads.


With two colours to offer the Orange and Black, the entire package comes at Rs 2,48,256 (ex-showroom Delhi).
