New models
Laffite Automobili, founded by Pascal Cohen and Bruno Laffite, is a company based in Turin that aims to produce high-performance race cars homologated for the road, all powered by fully-electric powertrains and endowed with luxurious features. The company recently unveiled three new models, including the Atrax HyperSUV, the LM1, and the Barchetta Coupe.
The HyperSUV has garnered significant attention due to its unique construction as the first SUV to feature a central carbon monocoque paired with an advanced pushrod-equipped double wishbone suspension setup and off-road wheels equipped with Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires.
Specs
The HyperSUV also features a race-inspired carbon-clad luxury interior with a unique 2+1 seating configuration and a fixed driver’s seat. The vehicle weighs in at 4,850 lbs and features a trio of hydraulic suspension settings with different ride heights and spring stiffnesses that can all be selected from the steering wheel.
With a wheelbase of 116 inches and a carbon fibre bodywork supplemented by hemp fibre-based composite panels, the vehicle measures 196 inches in length and 78.7 inches in width, with flared carbon wheel arches, a mobile rear wing and diffuser, and a spider-like structure on the back deck lid that holds the spare wheel and tire and doubles as a hydraulic system for lifting.
Performance specs
The Atrax is powered by an electric powertrain that generates 1,151 horsepower and 1,844ft-lbs of torque, with a top speed of 150mph and a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds. The powertrain is mated to a high-strength aluminium gearbox and draws power from a battery with a range of nearly 275 miles and the ability to receive a 20% to 80% charge in only 22 minutes.
