Conclusion about the present Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a good option for adventure motorcyclists who are looking for a powerful, comfortable, and capable bike at a competitive price.

However, it is essential to note that the bike is heavy and lacks some features from some rivals.

Here are some additional details about the pros and cons of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450:

Pros:

  • Robust and capable engine: The Himalayan 450 is powered by a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces around 40 BHP and 40 Nm of torque. This engine is more powerful than the current Himalayan 411 engine and is expected to be more refined. The Himalayan 450 will be able to handle both on-road and off-road riding with ease.
  • Comfortable ergonomics: The Himalayan 450 has been designed with comfort in mind. The seat is wide and well-padded, and the handlebar is positioned comfortably. The footpegs are also adjustable so riders can find a comfortable position for long rides.
  • Good suspension travel: The Himalayan 450 has long-travel suspension that can handle both on- and off-road riding. The front suspension has 200mm of travel, and the rear suspension has 180mm. This suspension will provide a comfortable ride over rough terrain and help keep the bike stable on uneven surfaces.
  • Long-range fuel tank: The Himalayan 450 has a 15-litre fuel tank. This gives the bike a range of over 300 kilometres, which is ideal for long-distance touring.
  • Attractive styling: The Himalayan 450 has classic adventure motorcycle styling. The bike has a large fuel tank, a high handlebar, and a long-travel suspension. The Himalayan 450 is sure to turn heads when it is seen on the road.
  • Competitive price: The Himalayan 450 is expected to be around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a competitive price for an adventure motorcycle with the features and performance of the Himalayan 450.

Cons:

  • Heavyweight: The Himalayan 450 is a heavy bike. It weighs around 200 kilograms. This weight can make the bike difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces and make it difficult to lift if it falls over.
  • Lack of features: The Himalayan 450 needs some features available on some rivals. For example, the bike does not have ABS, and it does not have a traction control system.
  • Not as refined as some rivals: The Himalayan 450 is less refined than some rivals. The engine can be noisy, and the suspension can be harsh.
  • Brakes could be better: The brakes on the Himalayan 450 could be better. The brakes are adequate for most riding conditions but can be weak when riding on steep downhill sections.
