Michael Dunlop is having a phenomenal start to the 2023 Isle of Man TT, winning both of the solo races that have taken place so far. He has now tied John McGuinness for the second-most TT wins of all time, with 23. With four more days of racing, Dunlop will be looking to break

McGuinness

McGuinness’ record and became the most successful TT rider of all time.

Dunlop has been in dominant form, winning both races by comfortable margins. In the Supersport Race One, he beat Peter Hickman by 12.3 seconds, and in the Superbike TT, he beat Hickman by 8.2 seconds.

Dunlop has also been setting impressive lap times, with his second-lap speed of 135.046 miles per hour in the Superbike TT being the fastest lap of the week so far.

Dunlop

Dunlop has been in excellent form this year. He has been setting fast lap times in practice and has been able to translate that speed into race wins. He also rides with a lot of confidence and is not afraid to push the limits.

Dunlop will be the favourite to win all of the remaining races in the 2023 TT. He has the speed, the experience, and the determination to win them all. If he can, he will become the most successful TT rider ever.

Here are the remaining races in the 2023 IOMTT:

  • Race Day 4 June 7: Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2 [4-laps]
  • Race Day 5 June 9: RL360 Superstock TT Race 2 [3-laps]
  • Race Day 6 June 10: Celebrating 100 Years of Sidecars at the TT

Conclusion

The Senior TT is the most prestigious race of the TT, and it would be a fitting place for Dunlop to break McGuinness’ record.

The 2023 TT is shaping up to be a very exciting event. Dunlop is the favourite to win, but Hickman and Harrison can both win races. It should be a great battle to see who comes out on top.
