Royal Enfield Company has announced its annual sales data for May 2021. The company reported that its total revenue over May 2020 increased by 43%.
The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer sold 27,294 vehicles (domestic and exports) in May. 2021 whereas it sold 19113 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
In May this year, the company sold 20,073 motorcycles in the domestic market. Which accounts for an increase of 9% growth compared to the 18,429 units sold in May 2020.
Exports experienced an increase of 956% during this month. And Royal Enfield sold 7,221 two-wheeler vehicles in the international market in May 2021. Against 684 vehicles in the same month last year.
The year-to-year data shows that from 19,204 vehicles in FY2020-21 to 80,592 vehicles in FY2021-22. The Royal Enfield company has experienced an increase of 320% in sales.
The two-wheeler manufacturer stated in a press release that due to the pandemic COVID-19. The lockdown and strict restrictions across the country impacted the sales of May 2020 and May 2021.
The local lockdowns in Chennai and retail networks across the country have tremendously impacted the production and manufacturing activities of Royal Enfield.
