Honda is indeed on a patent filing spree in India. The manufacturer has filed patents for several new products, including the Dax e: and Zoomer e: electric scooters.

These scooters are based on the popular petrol-powered versions of the same but have been updated with electric powertrains. The Dax e: and Zoomer e: are both small in size and come with a Bosch Hub motor capable of offering 80km of range and a humble top speed of 25kmph on both.

Dax E

The petrol Dax was first introduced in 1969. The Dax e: to have a retro-inspired design with a high-rise handlebar, a boxy body, and a round headlight. A 400W electric motor powers it, and has a top speed of 25 km/h. The Dax e has a range of 80 km on a single charge, which can be charged using a standard household outlet.

Zoomer E

The Zoomer e: is another new electric motorcycle from Honda. It is also based on a popular gasoline-powered motorcycle, the Honda Zoomer. The Zoomer e: has a more modern design than the Dax e:, with a sleeker body and a more angular headlight. A 500W electric motor powers it, and has a top speed of 28 km/h. The Zoomer e ranges 90 km on a single charge and can also be charged using a standard household outlet.

Affordable

The Dax e: and the Zoomer e: are affordable and easy-to-use electric motorcycles. They are perfect for city commuting or short trips. They are also environmentally friendly, as they produce zero emissions.

While these scooters may not be the most potent or feature-rich on the market, they could be a decent option for those looking for a small, affordable, efficient electric scooter. Honda has not announced plans to launch the Dax e: or Zoomer e: in India, but Honda may launch in the coming months or years.

While in China, Honda also plans to launch the third electric scooter, Cub e, by 2025. So will it be called electric Activa in India? Is it something we need to see?

Electric Activa

In addition to the Dax e: and Zoomer e:, Honda is also looking to launch the electric Activa in India by 2024. The electric Activa is based on the popular petrol-powered Activa scooter and is expected to offer similar performance and features.

The electric Activa will be a crucial product for Honda in India, as it will help the company compete with the Ather 450, Ola S1 and TVS iQube.

It will be interesting to see how Honda’s electric scooters are received in India. The market for electric scooters is proliferating in India, and there is a lot of competition from other manufacturers. However, Honda is a well-known and respected brand in India, and its electric scooters could be a popular choice among consumers.
