Valentino Rossi had a successful stint with Yamaha from 2004 to 2010 and from 2013 to 2021. He then switched to Ducati for two seasons (2011 to 2012) before returning to Yamaha in 2013 for another eight years.

Rossi has had a close relationship with Yamaha throughout his career and has often spoken highly of the team. Therefore, it is not surprising Yamaha has appointed him as their brand ambassador, especially considering his accomplishments with the team.

Retirement

Despite retiring from MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season, Rossi still maintains a close relationship with Yamaha and has expressed his fondness for the Yamaha R1 and Yamaha YZ450F as various motocross models from the brand.

“Of course, this is a great moment for Yamaha. It’s also an emotional development for the fans. I miss Valentino’s presence in MotoGP since he retired from his successful career”.
