2025 Model

Based on your information, the updated version of the Continental GT will start sales in 2024 and will likely arrive as a 2025 model. This gives Bentley enough time to ensure the updated model is perfect and ready for the market.

Based on the information provided, the design changes for the test vehicles will be minimal, with the most significant tweak being new internals for the lights at both ends.

However, a significant shakeup could be in store for what’s under the hood. Bentley confirmed that its twin-turbo 6.0-liter W-12 engine would cease production next April, and the limited-edition Batur coupe will be the last car to feature the engine.

Future Vehicles

It remains to be seen what engine Bentley will use in its future vehicles. Still, this announcement suggests significant changes to the powertrain of Bentley’s upcoming models.

They also look forward to replacing their current powertrain with a new V-8-based plug-in hybrid system that combines its twin-turbo 4.0-litre V-8 engine with an integrated electric motor.

This new powertrain is expected to be similar to the system used by Porsche in their Turbo S E-Hybrid models, which can deliver up to 670 horsepower.

While the output of the new Bentley powertrain has not been confirmed, the article suggests that it will likely be in the range of 740 horsepower, which is similar to the peak power output of Bentley’s current W-12 engine found in the Batur model.

Specs

It is worth noting that plug-in hybrid powertrains offer several benefits over traditional combustion engines, including improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

There is a possibility that a tamer hybrid may replace the Continental’s current V-8 option. This setup would likely utilize a plug-in hybrid powertrain similar to that used in the Bentayga and Flying Spur Hybrid.

This powertrain features a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V-6 engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the transmission, resulting in a combined output of 536 horsepower.

Electric future

Bentley Motors plans to switch its entire vehicle lineup to fully electric power by 2030. As part of this plan, the company will launch its first all-electric vehicle in 2025, which is expected to be a new model line and could be a crossover.

This move is part of the automaker’s sustainability efforts to reduce carbon emissions and support the transition to electric vehicles. Bentley has also stated that it will invest in renewable energy sources and work towards achieving carbon neutrality across its operations by 2030.
