If you’re a hardcore touring enthusiast, the Tracer 9 is a bike that will meet all your needs.
It’s one of those go-to touring bikes, available in both Sport and GT versions the latter outfitted to be able to tackle long distances comfortably.
The bike mirrors aggressive lines reflecting its hooligan brother, even if slightly more civilized.
Tracer GT
It’s equipped to fit for daily road rides for extended periods. With features like touring windshield, heated footpegs, ABS brakes, detachable screen, a rear rack to fit bags, high tech gauges. All that you’ll need to travel long distances.
That’s where the Tracer 9 GT comes in. This fully-faired sport-tourer has everything the MT-09 offers, albeit with more wind protection and better comfort for longer rides. It successfully combines power, comfort, and practicality, but its price point is slightly over the top.
However, if you’re looking to extend the functionality of this bike. Then Akrapovič has released a titanium silencer for the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT that extends the bike’s usability greatly by upping its character.
Akrapovic has build the exhaust using race-proven materials. The high-grade titanium muffler outer sleeve coupled with stainless-steel link pipes. And headers comes finished with a hand-crafted carbon-fibre end cap and a double heatshield.
How does it help?
The new design features a shorter muffler for an enhanced sporty look, which exits on the side of the bike for visual impact. Power is increased by 1.5 kW (2.0 hp) at 10,000 rpm.
And torque goes up by 1.3 Nm at 9,700 rpm when compared to back-to-back tests on a Tracer 9 with a Racing Line (Titanium) exhaust and a standard stock exhaust system. It creates an intense sound.
A catalytic converter comes in the package to meet Euro5 approval, and the exhaust arrives with the EC/ECE type-approved.
The plug-and-play fitting means no remapping needed.
The Racing Line (Titanium) comes fully compatible with Yamaha accessories, including complex cases and the centre stand.
