Akrapovič’s new slip-on exhaust for the Kawasaki Z900 is a dream

Kawasaki’s new Z900 is a great naked motorcycle that’s comfortable, fast and inexpensive.

Since its launch, it has been an enormous success on roads across Europe and America, compact. And lightweight yet powerful enough to reach a top speed of 158 mph.

And the moment you hop on board this machine, you start realizing that on a performance-per-dollar basisIit’s pretty tough to find anything on the market more appealing.

The 948cc inline-four engine makes subtle 125 horses. The chances are that if you are looking to buy the Z900, you are also considering aftermarket pipes for your bike.

One great brand of motorcycle exhaust systems available is Akrapovič. Founded in 1990, they have grown to become one of the most highly sought-after companies globally in high-performance exhaust systems. For anything from dirt bikes to superbikes and everything in between.

The slipon

You can’t mistake that unique Akrapovič sound, which the Slovenian brand has brought to our ears for decades now.

The same great sound now comes from a titanium-coned slip-on that is one of the most popular upgrades on the market.

Especially now that more and more bike makers are fitting their units with resonators and restricting them from having aftermarket slip-ons.

If you want to keep your Euro5 homologation stickers but still want a bit more performance and sound, look no further than the Slovenian speciality outfit.

Akrapovič also brings the optional stainless-steel header that goes with the slip-on system. Available in both titanium and stainless steel, these exhaust systems are exclusive to the European market.

They fit the Kawasaki Z900 perfectly, giving it a new tone and an increase in performance after some ECU tuning.

One of the advantages of buying these pipes is that they’re available with a choice of different header options.

The 2021 slip online for Z900 arrives at $750, while the stainless steel optional slip-on comes at $644.
