Down and dirty is the only way to describe Troy Bayliss’s racing; he rode with a fearless attitude that was reflected in his race machine, too.
The Australian’s passion for riding is well documented, and it’s not surprising that Bayliss has such a dedicated fan base.
In celebration of his first championship title, it makes sense then for Ducati to allow fans to acquire a piece of history—minus the wear and tear, of course.
The Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary Panigale V2 is developed with input from the legendary racer, after which it is named.
The V2 celebrates Ducati’s racing heritage with the same liquid-cooled, 955cc, Desmodromic L-twin found in the standard model.
Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary
The Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary will arrive with an Ohlins NX30 front fork.
And TTX36 rear shock absorber instead of a fully adjustable, 43mm Showa BPF fork and Sachs monoshock see on the Standard model.
Further, it gets the adjustable steering damper that helps the rider get the required balance and support.
Ducati engineers managed to shove off close to 3 kgs (6.6 pounds) by replacing the passenger pegs. And seat on the other side, it gets the new lithium-ion battery.
The livery has the signature red/white paint job; however, it also gets the subtle green.
The limited-edition Bayliss also arrives with a unique embroidered saddle, sport grips and carbon and titanium exhaust cover.
We also see iconic no 21 on Bayliss present on the front fairing and both side panels.
The sleek tail has high-performance manoeuvrability in mind. And comprises a titanium muffler cover that comes with a tri-colour finish – white, green and red – to signify the Italian flag.
The iconic Bayliss number 21 adorns both sides of the panels and the front fairing.
The limited-edition Bayliss arrives as a $21,000 price tag.
