Last month Ducati had unveiled its MIG RR an electric bike at EICMA, and we also got to know Ducati is selling this bike from April 2020.

However, this may not be the case, as explained by Ducati North America CEO, Jason Chinnick.

“We introduced the Mig-RR to Europe last year, and we had a very, very positive response. Overwhelming, in fact, to the point where we knew that it was a perfect opportunity for North America. And this is a product that is top of the line.”

The MIG RR is a 22 kgs lightweight e-bike that Ducati has made in collaboration with THOR E-Bikes. THOR are masters in making pedal-assisted e-bikes.

What does it get?

  • Aluminum frame.
  • 250Watt – 70Nm Shimano Steps engine.
  • 504 Watts Shimano battery.
  • 6061 T4 T6 aluminum frame for improvise handling.
  • Suspensions are from Kashima Factory Series FOX 36 Float forks.
  • Tire duties are by Maxxis DHF tires, EXO+ 2.6″ front, and 2.8″ rear.
  • It gets Maxxis DHF tires, EXO+ 2.6″ front, and 2.8″ rear brakes.
  • Fatbar Lite Carbon handlebar.
  • Price: 2,280 Euros in and $4000 to $7000 in US.
  • Ducati starts delivering the bikes from April 2020.

Dates are still not precise as to when will the ebikes be available in the US.

Ducati has three other e-bikes unveiled in the EICMA with an altogether different set of specs.

Ducati plans to sell these e-bikes to already existing customers. That is how the strategy is and then the young crowd.

How will this e-bike fare in the US market we are keen to see?
