It looks like Honda is working on the large size Rebel, which is 1100 cc cruiser Rebel 1100 and to support our theory we have patent drawings.
When it comes to cruiser Honda doesn’t have any large displacement cruiser in its lineup.

Patent side angle
Why?
The top line cruiser in Honda’s lineup is Rebel 500, and it comes with 471 cc Water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve in-line 2-cylinder, and this unit delivers an output of 45 hp.
However, in February 2020 Honda with expanded specs has updated the Rebel 500.
The Rebel 250 and 500 are famous among the young generation.
Patent front
Going ahead the competition comes from Harley Davidson and Indian both having cruisers in their lineup having 1000 cc upward.
While again there was news about Honda is working on 800cc ADV which is capable enough to compete with KTM 790 Adventure and Yamaha Tenere 700.
Rear stereo struts
And lately, Yamaha Tenere 700 Travel or T7 to is spotted. However, how soon we see Honda’s cruiser in this segment is something debatable.
Market size
If we look at the cruiser market size and as per Factmr.com the collective, standard and cruiser motorcycles are estimated to account for more than 53% of the total market share in 2020.
Surprised right?
Exhaust
Now, this is one good reason why we could see Honda moving into a larger cruiser segment.
Let’s take a look at what Honda may bring the 1100 cc cruiser.
Specs
The new Rebel 1100cc will comply with the Euro 5 norms having 1,084 cc motor with close to 100 hp of power. We could also see an A2 variant for Europe.
The 1100cc motor will come from already released new Africa Twin CRF1100L. However, looking at the all-new design Honda may have to build a new chassis.

The patent drawings show the presence of DCT double-clutch transmission, which is present in the Africa Twin.
Design
Our analogy comes from already present designs of Rebel 250 and Rebel 500, and they are same. Further, when it comes to look and feel, we don’t see any change.
So will Honda extend the same design to the Rebel 1100 is a question to ponder?
And to answer if you look at the patent drawing, it does look like the design matches the younger Rebel 250 and 500.
Design similar to Honda Rebel 500
So Honda may not change the lines of Rebel 1100. We do see beefy exhaust at the rear which may come with two outputs.
The standard telescopic fork performs suspension duties at the front while stereo struts are present on the opposite end.
Competitors
The ideal competitors we could see for Honda Rebel 1100 are 2020 Harley Davidson Low Rider S and 2021 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty.
2021 Harley Low Rider S
The 2020 Low Rider S comes stacked with 102 mm bore and
Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine with 1,868 cc displacement which makes 100 horses.
On the other hand, the 2021 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty gets the 1,133 cc, Liquid Cooled V-Twin (60 degrees) motor again makes 100 hp.

Price Wars
The 2020 Harley Low Rider S Costs $17,999 in the US, and the 2021 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty comes with the $11,999 price tag.
We think if Honda positions itself in the same range as Indian Scout Bobber or below may open the doors for large size cruiser market for Honda.
Honda already has the Africa Twin CRF1100L platform so we don’t see why Honda will make any delay in bringing the Rebel 1100 in the market.
