Racing motorcycles are inherently dangerous. It’s not possible to eliminate that danger, but that doesn’t mean that the sport shouldn’t be trying to minimize it.

That’s why MotoGP riders question whether something needs to change again after yet another young rider died Sunday.

The death of 15-year-old WSBK Dean Berta Vinales during at SSP300 took the number of teenage deaths ( including Hugo Millan (14), Jason Dupasquier (19)) in the racing to three in the last couple of months.

The Aussie Jack Miller said

“It’s beyond terrible. It’s atrocious what’s happened this year with so many young lives being lost.”

“Looking the other day at Dean, [born in] 2006. It’s not long ago.The poor kid didn’t get to live an entire life, and that’s terrible.

And I know one of the young Australians living up in Andorra was involved in the accident, Harry Khouri, and he’s pretty torn up about it. It affects these young kids for sure.

“But unless we’re going to stop young kids from racing – which I don’t think is the right way to go about it”.

“Because at the end of the day, that’s what they love, they know that these risks are there – there’s not much you can do except try to make the racing safer.”

Aleix Espargaro quotes

“We need to change something because the biggest problem is not the three deaths we’ve had in the last six months, which is already a big problem.

The biggest problem is the tendency where we are going.

This is what makes me worried because we have much close racing in the small classes all around Europe”.

There was also talk on Safety equipment, future technology and reducing grid sizes.

We hope to see some changes in the racing pattern and the way races are carried.
