Royal Enfield took their time getting to Brazil. It wasn’t until early 2022 the motorcycle company built an assembly plant in Manaus, Brazil. Why so long? Royal Enfield finally had a completed lineup of motorcycles for the South American market.

With the new range, the desire for RE motorcycles is strong, and measures are being taken to meet that demand.

The motorcycle company has recently been undergoing a massive change, embracing modern manufacturing philosophies to produce its retro classic-inspired motorcycles.

Most recently, the Chennai, India-based manufacturer opened a new CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly facility in Brazil ( located in the capital city of Manaus) to facilitate easier motorcycle assembly in Brazil.

On occasion, Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan said.

“Royal Enfield has been working extensively to grow the middleweight motorcycling segment globally. With markets like the Americas region, Europe, and Asia-Pacific growing significantly, our strategic intent has been to be closer to these markets and grow the business.”

Royal Enfield has expanded its facility in Brazil. It has four CKD assembly locations in Thailand, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil. The Brazilian facility will produce 15,000 units per year.

Further, Govindranjan said.

“Brazil has been a robust market for Royal Enfield and is soon poised to be the single largest market for us outside India. We have seen more than 100 per cent growth since 2019 here in Brazil.”

Brazilian enthusiasts should be excited to learn that Royal Enfield has opened a new CKD assembly facility in Manaus, Brazil. The plant will build the entire lineup, starting with the 350cc Meteor and ending with the 650cc Interceptor. While this news is exciting, it also opens the door for potential future models, including the rumoured 450cc platform.

To conclude, Govindarajan said.

“We are delighted to launch our fourth CKD facility globally here in Brazil. This is a testament to our commitment to the region and the market potential, and our growing community of riding enthusiasts in the market.

We are confident that this facility will help us grow the mid-segment market here in Brazil while enabling us to cater to the growing demand efficiently.”
