Features

Regarding features, the 2024 Z900RS shares similarities with its predecessor. It boasts full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, Kawasaki Traction Control, and an assist and slipper clutch mechanism.

Engine

Under the hood, the motorcycle houses a 948cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 107bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 95Nm at 6,500rpm. Notably, the engine meets the latest emission standards. The bike’s hardware includes twin 300mm front discs, a single 250mm rear rotor, upside-down front forks, and a rear monoshock.

In the Indian market, the Kawasaki Z900RS faces competition from notable rivals like the Triumph Bonneville T100 and the Speed Twin. With its unique styling, features, and performance capabilities, the Z900RS aims to capture the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts seeking a premium and distinctive riding experience.

Pros and cons of the Kawasaki Z900RS motorcycle:

Pros:

  • Retro-styled design: The Z900RS has a classic design that pays homage to the Kawasaki Z1 of the 1970s. It is a stylish and timeless motorcycle that will turn heads wherever you go.
  • Powerful engine: The Z900RS is powered by a 948cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 107bhp at 8,500rpm and 95Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine provides plenty of power for both city riding and highway cruising.
  • Modern features: Despite its retro styling, the Z900RS comes with a number of modern features, including full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and Kawasaki Traction Control. These features make the Z900RS a safe and enjoyable motorcycle to ride.
  • Comfortable riding position: The Z900RS has a comfortable riding position that is perfect for both city riding and highway cruising. The handlebars are wide and the footpegs are positioned in a neutral position, which gives the rider a relaxed and in control feel.
  • High-quality build: The Z900RS is built with high-quality materials and components. The frame is made of steel and the bodywork is made of lightweight aluminum. The suspension is fully adjustable, which allows the rider to customize the handling of the motorcycle to their liking.

Cons:

  • Price: The Z900RS is not cheap. It is priced at Rs. 16.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is a premium price for a motorcycle in this segment.
  • Weight: The Z900RS is not the lightest motorcycle on the market. It weighs in at 215kg, which can make it a bit cumbersome to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
  • Suspension: The suspension on the Z900RS is firm, which can make it a bit uncomfortable on rough roads.
  • Wind protection: The Z900RS does not have much wind protection, which can make it a bit uncomfortable on long rides at high speeds.

Conclusion

The Kawasaki Z900RS is a great motorcycle with a lot to offer riders. It has a stylish retro design, a powerful engine, and a comfortable riding position. It is also packed with modern features, such as full-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS.

However, it is not cheap and it is not the lightest motorcycle on the market. If you are looking for a retro-styled motorcycle with modern features and performance, the Z900RS is a great option, but you should be prepared to pay a premium for it.
