Let’s take a look at the new Ducati Monster as Ducati brings the new Monster in India. The new Monster arrives in flavours Standard and Plus.

Engine

The Monster mounts the 937 cc L-twin Testastretta 11 ° engine, with desmodromic distribution and Euro 5 homologated

Compared to the previous 821, it increases in displacement, power, torque and decreases in weight (-2.4 kg) to contribute to the lightness of the motorcycle and offer better driveability.

It now delivers 111 hp at 9,250 rpm with maximum torque of 9.5 Nm delivered at just 6,500 rpm, proving to be efficient and responsive in throttle response.

Design

The engine is load-bearing, and a Front Frame is connected to it which conceptually incorporates that of the Panigale V4. Made of aluminium it is 4.5 kg lighter than the Monster 821 trellis frame, a 60% lightening which contributes to the overall lightness of the bike.

The Superbike-derived frame is an aluminium Front Frame and helps to keep the weight down by just 166 kg when dry. The reduction in curb weight compared to a Monster 821 is 18 kg.

The rear subframe – made with modern GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) technology – drops by 1.9 kg.

And lightness is a crucial ingredient to having a comfortable, manageable, fast but above all fun bike.

And because it undoubtedly has the distinctive elements that characterize this model: the tank shaped like a “ bison back”, the circular fan “embedded in the shoulders ”, the clean tail, the engine at the centre of the scene

Narrow hips and front frame ends at the height of the vertical head. It helps you put your feet on the ground quickly when the bike is stationary.

Design characterized by simple and clean lines. An engine, a saddle, a tank and a handlebar. Monster is what it takes to drive and have fun, nothing more.

Even the 1.7 kg lighter wheels compared to those of the 821 participating in the lightness of the new Monster. Made of light alloy.

 The steering angle reaches 36 °, a good 7 ° more. Summarized in 36 ° of steering angle 7 °.

Electronics

Comes with three riding modes.

  • Sport: The engine provides 111 hp and a direct Ride by Wire response when the throttle is opened, reduced intervention by the Ducati Traction Control system and level 2 of the ABS.
  • Urban: The engine delivers 75 HP with a progressive response of the RbW when the throttle is opened, even more, substantial intervention by the Ducati Traction Control system and level 3 ABS braking efficiency with maximum braking stability and lift control of the posterior.
  • Touring: The engine delivers 111 HP with a more progressive response than Ride by Wire when the throttle is opened, greater intervention by the DTC system and level 3 of the ABS to guarantee maximum stability under braking and control of the rear lift.

Also, the Ducati Quick-shift system not only makes sporty driving more fun, but it is also a valuable aid in city traffic and on winding roads that require frequent shifting.

The slipper clutch that equips the Monster works in an oil bath and thanks to a particular interlocking system it is very soft to use. Thanks to the new hydraulic control, it is extremely “light” to operate (-20% effort compared to the Monster 821).
