Lucid Motors, the US electric car manufacturer, has started delivering its luxury sedan, the Lucid Air, in Switzerland.
The deliveries took place at the five-star hotel, The Dolder Grand, in Zurich, instead of the flagship store in Geneva. The European deliveries of the limited edition Lucid Air Dream Edition began in December 2022 in Germany and the Netherlands, with Switzerland being the next market about six months later.
Edition
The Lucid Air Dream Edition is available in two versions: the Dream Edition Performance and the Dream Edition Range. The Performance version focuses on power and offers 828 kW (861 kilometres of WLTP range). In comparison, the Range version emphasizes efficiency and provides a range of 883 kilometres with a power output of 696 kW. Although the Range model is less powerful, it is still capable.
Lucid Motors has not disclosed which version the initial customers in Switzerland have chosen, nor have they provided information on the planned volume of deliveries for the country this year.
Two variants
In May, Lucid Motors announced the pricing for two more variants of the Lucid Air, namely the Air Pure AWD and Air Touring, in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Norway. In Switzerland, the Air Pure AWD is priced at CHF125,000, while the Air Touring is priced at CHF145,000. Deliveries for these models in the four countries are expected to begin later this year.
According to the P3 consultancy’s Charging Index report, the top-of-the-range Lucid Air Grand Touring model ranked first as the best option for longer trips due to its fast charging capacity. However, the Grand Touring model is only available in the United States and has yet to come to Europe.
