Triumph has finally started testing the first of several products the British marque is planning on building alongside Bajaj Auto.

The new motorcycle, which could very well be what the duo refers to as the “Street” model. Boasts a minimalist and tidy design inspired by Street Twin. At least it looks from the styling.

It also appears to pack an all-new single-cylinder engine of unspecified displacement but seems reasonably large for what is supposed to be an entry-level model from the duo.

While we don’t know exactly when that first fruit from the Bajaj-Triumph orchard will ripen. The Triumph Street on test here is already enjoying the benefits of being a step ahead. It could be in 2023.

The test mule you see here is an early prototype for a couple of reasons. Not necessarily because it has been spotted testing a way from its Midlands home. And the production version may change.

What to expect?

Since the early days of motorcycling, manufacturers have sought out producing partnerships with third-party companies to expand their product lines.

For many of the World’s leading manufacturers, including Triumph and BMW.It’s brought big success abroad. In India, though, things have played out a bit differently.

However, after some difficulties with getting the launch back on track due to delays in the supply chain of components from suppliers abroad.Triumph’s and Bajaj’s Street Single will be ready to hit the Indian market in 2023.

Spotted in the wild … somewhere. Triumph and Bajaj are testing out two new suspiciously similar models that follow up on the firm’s most recent retro-styled offering, the Street Twin.

If history is any indication, then we’re likely to see a scrambler derivative of this Street Single.Or perhaps an even more street-oriented machine—join next year’s range.

We could see 17-inch alloy wheels, single disc brakes on rear and front. Dual canister exhaust on the right and of course, a double-sided swingarm.

Sporting a classic, vintage aesthetic and the detailing you’d expect from two of the World’s famous motorcycle brands.Triumph and Bajaj are aiming at what essentially is just the one bike – Royal Enfield’s 350cc ‘Meteor’.
