Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Zongshen has recently released the 2023 model-year update for its Cyclone RX401 with new variants. This entry-level adventure bike is based on the popular Zongshen RX4, sold under different names in multiple markets worldwide.

It’s worth noting the Cyclone RX401 boasts some impressive technology, although it’s currently only available in China.

Powerful motor

All variants of the new Cyclone RX401 are equipped with a powerful engine, which is a 401cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine that features a single-overhead camshaft.

Thanks to its four-valve cylinder head, this engine can generate an impressive 45-horsepower and 25-pound-foot output. With these specs, Zongshen boasts that the Cyclone can reach a top speed of approximately 150 kilometres per hour, or roughly 94 miles per hour.

The Cyclone RX401 is an adventure-touring motorcycle that boasts a massive fuel tank with a capacity of 20.5 litres. As a result, the bike can cover an impressive distance of 312 miles before requiring refuelling.

Heavy

However, it is essential to note this also means the bike has a heavy curb weight of 215 kilograms, which is not helped by the steel frame and barebones componentry.

Despite these drawbacks, the bike’s low seat height of just 815 millimetres makes it a viable option for shorter riders looking for an approachable adventure touring motorcycle.

Zongshen has designed the 2023 Cyclone model to cater to off-road and touring riders’ needs. The off-road version comes with wire-spoke wheels and tubeless tires, while the touring boasts alloy wheels.

Both versions have 110/80 19 tires at the front and 140/70 17 at the back, with dual disc brakes in the front and a single disc in the rear. Switchable ABS is a crucial feature for off-road riding and is included in both versions. Choose the version that best suits your safe and enjoyable ride needs.

Electronic suite

The LED lighting looks super modern and sleek, and there are two different options for instrumentation. The fancier version has this lovely full-colour display that you can connect to your smartphone, and it even has a tire pressure monitoring system.

The more basic version has an LCD instead. As for pricing, the basic model is about 28,999 Yuan, around $4,188, while the premium version is a bit pricier at 31,980 Yuan or approximately $4,619.
