On February 4, Yamaha Motor reported a recall (collection and free repair) to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism .

Claims that the front brakes of the “YZF-R25A” and “YZF-R3A” were defective.

The target is 1127 units manufactured from December 4, 2018, to July 12, 2019.

Trouble Spots

There are two trouble spots: the front brake hose and the front brake hose holder.

Some front brake hoses come into contact with the hose when the steering wheel is turn to the left due to improper wiring instructions in the electrical wiring of the horn.

Therefore, if the protective material of the brake hose is worn, and the brake hose is use as it is, the hose may be damaged, and in the worst case, the brake fluid may leak, and the braking force may reduce.

Remedy

As a remedy, the electric wiring of all vehicles and horns will change. Inspect the brake hose and replace any that are found to be damaged with new ones.

Some front brake hose holders are not installed in the correct state due to improper bending.

Therefore, if the holder is detached due to running vibration or the like and continued to be used as it is.

The brake hose may contact the front fork and damage the hose, and in the worst case, the brake fluid may leak, and the braking force may decrease.

As a remedy, replace all vehicles and holders with good ones. Inspect the brake hose and replace any that are found to be damaged with new ones.

No failures or accidents have occurred. A recall was filed based on information from the company.
