Husqvarna Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401 the older siblings of Vitpilen and Svartpilen 250 are unlikely to launch in India anytime soon.

Svartpilen 401

Although they will arrive late in India, we take a look at them.
The 401 comes from a 373 cc engine, derived from the KTM 390 series.
Motor
Both Vitpilen and Svatpilen 401 comes with a modern 373cc single-cylinder engine that is remarkably compact.
With 37Nm of torque from low down in the RPM range and a 6-speed gearbox, it is perfect for urban riding. The electronic fuel injection comes operated by a ride-by-wire system and delivers a controlled and refined power.
With a peak horsepower of 32 kW (44 hp), the Vitpilen and Svartpilen are accessible to a wide variety of riders. At the same time, its lightweight construction means the power-to-weight ratio will also excite more experienced riders.
Engine and frame
For convenience, gearbox comes linked to easy shift sensor which allows the rider to make seamless up and downshifts without the use of the clutch.
The sensor works by relaying the moment the rider actuates the gear lever to the ECU which in turn matches engine parameters to allow a simple gear change at any RPM or engine load.
Aesthetics
It is an original mix of traditional thinking and modern design. This Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401 is synonymous with the Swedish heritage of Husqvarna Motorcycles.
Both bikes have different design.
The lightweight and narrow bodywork comes shaped into the Svartpilen 401’s design and intelligently allows for seamless movement while riding.
Its dark colour, rugged tyres and protective parts give the motorcycle a rigorous look to match its urban exploration intentions.
While we see the same in the Vitpilen 401, both these bikes correlate among themselves. The Svartpilen 401 is modern-day Scrambler while the Vitpilen 401 is a modern say cafe-racer.
The Vitpilen 401 gets the aggressive cafe racer style clip-on while the Svartpilen 401 gets more pulled up clip-on.
Frame, Brakes, Suspension and Wheels
The frame comes made from the chromium-molybdenum steel using hydro form tubes and robot welding.
The frame is not only strong but lightweight and nimble. The structure works in harmony with the WP suspension.
ByBre brake callipers are present on both bikes.
Both the bikes come fitted with the hydraulic ByBre brake callipers in combination with 320mm front and 230mm rear perforated steel discs.
The front suspension features 43mm open cartridge forks while the rear features a progressive damping system connected directly to the swingarm.
The 17-inch spoke wheels of Svartpilen 401 are a design highlight of both the bikes. While the Vitpilen 401 has anodised spoke wheels.

The front and rear lights of both bikes come are LEDs. Further, both these bikes come with high-quality seats with foam and leather fabric.
